W.I.P. on Eve, our Female Avatar

Here are two more W.I.P. images of our Eve avatar. They are similar to our previous posting of the avatar’s head, but from a different angle. These enable you to see changes from one image to the next, to details and lighting, which make the avatar look more realistic.

These images are of a work in progress, representing only a single step during many stages of the development process. Nothing that is a “W.I.P.” is the final, finished product. (No movement or expression shown on these images, adding movement is a different stage in the avatar's development process.)

Woodland House Video

Exciting news!! (Drum roll please...)
Because so many are asking on our Facebook page, Twitter feed (@AtomRepublic) and the AU Forums, we can’t wait any longer and have decided to share with you a video of our Woodland House, and the environment surrounding it. We will still share images of the space with you over the next few weeks, but for now - ENJOY!

W.I.P. - The Woodland House Personal Space

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing W.I.P. on our Woodland House personal space, designed by our Senior Artist, Paul Rance.

Paul worked for 12 years at Sony Computer Entertainment, London and was the Senior Artist on many Sony games. Most notably, he worked on PlayStation Home for 5 years doing in-house development work and building the original Home Squares (1 & 2,) and the fun Singstar dance space. Paul also created the most breathtaking personal apartments for PlayStation Home, like the Prehistoric Valley, Kingdom of the Skies, Dream Island, Paradise Health Club, Stately Home, and the Complex 2; just to name a few.

When it comes to desiging in-world spaces, Paul is #1 and we feel very lucky to have him. Here is your first look at our Woodland House personal space!

Emoticon's in Atom Universe

Emoticon's in Atom Universe - we will display an emoticon next to your avatar name in Atom Universe (see example in attached picture,) emoticon's will show other player's how you are feeling at any particular point in-game. 

What emoticon would you like to have available for use? Feel free to come to forums to add your suggestions. 
(Nothing explicit please, Atom Universe is a family friendly game.)

Atom Universe E3 Trailer

This is a snapshot of our W.I.P. at the time of E3, we showed this trailer to people we met at E3 2015. It shows what you can do currently in our game. Music: "Runaway" by Galantis (RedMoon mix).

PS4 Demo Removed From PSN Store

As many of you have noticed, we took the difficult decision to remove the Atom Universe PS4 demo from the PSN store.
Even though we realize everyone may not be able to play the updated and more advanced demo currently available on PC, keeping the PS4 demo updated and re-released to the PSN store as well would be extremely time-consuming, and we felt it was more productive to focus our efforts right now on building the game and releasing it on beta sooner. 
TBH, the PS4 demo was actually doing more harm than good because many PS4 players not familiar with pre-alpha builds were downloading the PS4 demo version with no understanding it was just an early build, only to be upset by the place-holder's and bugs.
We do apologize for any inconvenience or upset our removal of the PS4 demo from the PSN store has caused.

Virtualizer: Learning To Walk

How will you look the first time YOU try?

Well, we thought we'd poke a little fun at our wonderful and most daring CTO, Alex, stumbling and learning to walk on the Virtulizer VR treadmill at E3.


Occasionally we hear a rumor that Atom Universe will not be on PS4 because we didn't get enough money in the Kickstarter campaign. Let us assure you this statement is false. Release of the PS4 beta would have been faster if we had reached our stretch goal on Kickstarter, and it will take a bit more time then the PC version to get out to you, but we will have a PS4 version.

Also, if Sony will enable it, we are looking into a limited release option for an updated PS4 demo at some point before beta release. We will announce it on social media as soon as we know more.

Morpheus Headsets Preview From Sony

We are really excited to have received 2 of the latest Morpheus headsets from Sony. Woop! WOOP! 

We continue working hard to bring you a great game that, among other things, will allow you to use VR to move into the future of gaming with Atom Universe on PS4! Thank you Sony for our cool new toys!
